As the U.K.-based
New Revolut customers can receive 100% cashback on up to five single tap-to-pay MTA rides paid for with their Revolut card as part of the company’s new “Ride with Revolut” promotion. The offer is only being extended to commuters who sign up for a new account in-person with a Revolut ambassador in subway stations across NYC.
“Our goal is to make everyday financial decisions easier and more convenient for New Yorkers,” said Revolut head of growth Fiona Davies.
The cost of a single MTA fare, whether via subway or bus, is $2.90. The value of the promotion translates to potential cashback rewards of up to $14.50 in value if redeemed for the maximum number of five individual rides.
Lincoln Parks, founder of bank marketing agency WebMobileFusion, told American Banker that instant cashback rewards are an attractive offer for prospective consumers.
“Revolut’s subway cashback is a powerful play,” he said. “It’s simple, real money, and everyone loves instant rewards. Stuff like this always grabs folks way more than ‘enter to win’ type deals.”
The offer runs from August 22 until either September 20 or once a total of 3,400 new customers have signed up for the promotion, whichever occurs first.
