Out of the 90 banks on American Banker’s 2025 Best Banks to Work For ranking, 11 have more than $10 billion of assets. Repeat honoree Pinnacle Financial Partners in Nashville, Tennessee, is the largest bank on the list with assets topping $54 billion.<\/p>\n

Pinnacle also happens to be among the Best Banks above the $10 billion-asset threshold that’s in the midst of a merger. The company has agreed to combine operations with Synovus Financial<\/u><\/ps-link> in Columbus, Georgia, in one of the largest bank M&A deals announced this year.<\/p>\n

The new entity would operate under the Pinnacle name and brand<\/u><\/ps-link>, and Synovus CEO Kevin Blair would be the CEO of both a newly formed holding company and the bank.<\/p>\n

Another 2025 Best Banks to Work For winner, the Tupelo, Mississippi-based Cadence Bank, expects to be acquired<\/u><\/ps-link> by Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Bancshares in a $7.4 billion all-stock deal announced last month. Meanwhile, First Merchants Bank in Muncie, Indiana, has agreed to buy First Savings Financial Group<\/u><\/ps-link> in Jeffersonville, Indiana, for $241 million in stock.<\/p>\n
