He was speaking at the opening plenary of the World Economic Forum&#8217;s annual conference in China, often dubbed &#8220;Summer Davos.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Describing Li&#8217;s comment on &#8220;reshaping the rules and order&#8221; as &#8220;very interesting,&#8221; Adam Tooze, professor of history at Columbia University, said: &#8220;I think what we&#8217;re going to see is a pluralization.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s needed is more about processes rather than focusing on who is setting the &#8220;order,&#8221; he told CNBC.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Placeholder-ArticleBody-Video-108162996\">\n<div role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" id=\"Placeholder-ArticleBody-Video-108162996\" class=\"PlaceHolder-wrapper\" data-vilynx-id=\"7000380260\" data-test=\"VideoPlaceHolder\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-videoEmbed\" id=\"InlineVideo-0\" data-test=\"InlineVideo\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-inlineThumbnailContainer\"><span class=\"InlineVideo-videoButton\"><\/span><span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>In the speech, Li referred to how more than 30 countries <a href=\"http:\/\/us.china-embassy.gov.cn\/eng\/zggs\/202505\/t20250531_11638200.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed a &#8220;Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation<\/a>&#8221; in Hong Kong last month.
