{"id":17207,"date":"2025-06-24T20:40:04","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T20:40:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/finderica.com\/?p=17207"},"modified":"2025-06-24T20:40:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T20:40:04","slug":"cathie-woods-ark-trims-circle-stake-after-netting-windfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/finderica.com\/?p=17207","title":{"rendered":"Cathie Wood&#8217;s Ark trims Circle stake after netting windfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div class=\"Enhancement\" data-align-center=\"\">\n<div class=\"Enhancement-item\">\n<figure class=\"Figure\">   <\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><ps-link>Cathie Wood<\/ps-link> is trimming her portfolio after scoring big with her latest bold bet: Circle Internet Group Inc., the stablecoin firm that has seen its shares surge by triple digits since its debut as a public company.<\/p>\n<p>Wood&#8217;s Ark Investment Management has offloaded about 1.5 million shares of Circle over four recent trading sessions, worth roughly $333 million, based on back-of-the envelope math calculated by Bloomberg from the firm&#8217;s daily trading disclosures.<\/p>\n<p>The sale comes just weeks after three of Wood&#8217;s exchange-traded funds bought <ps-link>4.5 million Circle shares<\/ps-link>, which were valued around $373 million at the close of its trading debut on June 5. With the stock&#8217;s\u00a0<ps-link>stratospheric\u00a0rally<\/ps-link> since then, Ark has likely recouped much of the cost of its initial stakes through the sales.<\/p>\n<p>The flagship ARK Innovation ETF, with $6.5 billion in assets, sold 1.2 million shares. ARK Next Generation Internet ETF and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF followed by also selling shares. Wood&#8217;s firm as a whole remains the eighth-largest holder of Circle, data compiled by Bloomberg show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Profit-taking is a natural part of Ark&#8217;s strategy,&#8221; said Todd Sohn, senior ETF analyst at Strategas Research. &#8220;The more important questions and considerations would come if they completely sold out of the name; that would raise the risk of Nvidia\u00a0redux.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Ark did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Ark&#8217;s unwinding of Circle holdings comes after shares of the company behind USDC, the second-largest stablecoin by market share, rallied more than 600% since it started trading earlier this month \u2014 marking the most high-profile cryptocurrency-related debut since Coinbase Global&#8217;s direct listing in 2021. <\/p>\n<p>New York-based Circle is now valued at about $50 billion, putting it well within the league of heavyweights like Coinbase and Robinhood Markets.
