It&#8217;s not tied to an index.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What\u00a0we try to do is help investors leverage the upside through sector rotation, but also minimize drawdowns,&#8221;\u00a0the Fairlead Strategies founder told CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;ETF Edge&#8221; this week. &#8220;That&#8217;s obviously a big advantage longer term when you can just go into a less deep hole to climb out of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Stockton, her ETF is particularly nimble in this environment because it uses multiple strategies \u2014 not just one. Since President Donald Trump announced his &#8220;reciprocal&#8221; tariffs on April 2, the ETF has fallen just over 4%, while the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-3\">S&amp;P 500<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> has lost 6.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Stockton&#8217;s ETF rotates monthly between all 11 S&amp;P 500 sectors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t own <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-4\">technology<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> anymore,&#8221; Stockton said. &#8220;Some of the sectors that we like to invest in have fallen out of favor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As of April 16,\u00a0the fund&#8217;s top sector holdings included <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-5\">consumer staples<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-6\">utilities<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-7\">real estate<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, according to Fairlead Strategies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As of Thursday&#8217;s close, the Fairlead Tactical Sector ETF is down 4% so far this year.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, ETFs that are centered around specific sectors or strategies are largely under pressure. For example, the Invesco Top QQQ Trust (QBIG), which tracks the top 45% of companies in the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-9\">Nasdaq-100<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> index, is down 22% in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The GraniteShares YieldBoost TSLA ETF (TSYY) is off 48% since the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>BTIG&#8217;s Troy Donohue, the firm&#8217;s head of Americas portfolio trading, thinks Stockton&#8217;s ETF employs a sound strategy \u2013 particularly during the recent &#8220;dramatic pullback.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;TACK is a great example of how you can be nimble during these market times,&#8221; Donohue said. &#8220;It&#8217;s great to see it in an ETF product that has performed really well during this recent drawdown.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/04\/19\/investor-protection-during-market-volatility-through-tactical-fund.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Katie Stockton thinks she has a viable option for investors trying to withstand wild market swings.
